Participant Disclaimer, Assumption of Risk & Terms of Participation

This document applies to all individuals who take part in Walk The Talk ("WTT") group walks, events, and related activities in London or elsewhere. By joining a walk or otherwise participating, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to the terms below.

Nature of the Activity

WTT organises informal, social group walks. Walks are not medically supervised, are not personal training sessions, and are not a substitute for professional health or medical advice.

Routes may include public roads, pavements, parks, uneven or wet surfaces, road crossings, steps, and areas with traffic or cyclists.

Assumption of Risk

Walking in an urban group setting carries inherent risks, including:

The Participant voluntarily assumes all such risks. Participation is entirely at your own risk.

Health & Fitness

By joining a walk you confirm you consider yourself fit enough for moderate physical exertion. If you have any medical condition or concern, you must:

WTT walk leaders are not medically trained. You attend based on your own judgement about your health.

Children & Vulnerable Participants

WTT walks are intended for adults. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied at all times by a parent, guardian, or carer who takes full responsibility for their safety. WTT does not provide childcare duty of care.

Personal Belongings

You are responsible for your own belongings — phone, wallet, valuables — at all times. WTT accepts no responsibility for loss, theft, or damage to personal property during a walk or at any meeting point.

Photography & Media

WTT may photograph or film walks for use on its website, social media, and promotional materials. By participating you consent to this. If you do not wish to be photographed, please inform a WTT organiser in writing before the walk.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, WTT excludes liability for any loss, injury, or damage arising from participation, except where caused by WTT's proven negligence.

WTT is not liable for the acts of third parties — other pedestrians, road users, or members of the public not under WTT's control.

Walk Leader Authority

Walk leaders may refuse entry to or remove anyone who appears under the influence of alcohol or drugs, behaves unsafely, or fails to follow reasonable instructions.

Weather & Cancellation

WTT may shorten, reroute, postpone, or cancel a walk at short notice due to weather or safety concerns. Participants will be notified where possible via WTT's usual channels.

Insurance

Participants are encouraged to hold their own personal accident insurance. Joining a WTT walk does not provide cover under any WTT insurance policy.

Governing Law

This disclaimer is governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from it.
